Submit your photo to enter the contest
Visit www.acti-sol.ca and use the form to submit your photos and your contact information.
- The maximum weight of a photo should not exceed 1.5 MB.
- Only .jpg photos will be accepted.
- Make sure that the photo you send us is in the right position, as we cannot alter a photo after it has been sent.
- Participation is limited to one person per category (for a total of 3).
- If you submit a 2nd photo for the same category, it will not be considered.
Please allow a maximum of 24 hours for your photo to be validated and published on the site.
The contest is open to any amateur photographer aged 18 years or over at the time of entry and residing in the province of Québec. All photos taken by a professional (i.e. by a photo studio) will be rejected. No entries sent by mail will be accepted.
All photos have to abide by the established theme. We reserve the right to refuse any photo not abiding by the established theme, considered indecent or disrespectful of the integrity of the persons appearing in it, or transmitted without the permission of these persons.
Vote
The vote is open to all persons visiting the www.acti-sol.ca Web page. Voting means rating a photo on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the highest rating and 1 being the lowest). YOU CAN VOTE FOR THE NUMBER OF PHOTOS YOU WANT, in all categories, but there is a limit of a single vote per photo.
Please note that if you vote again for the same photo, only the last rating will be considered.
Prizes to be won
4 gift certificates will be awarded :
- In each of the 3 categories, one $100 gift certificate will be awarded for the photo with the highest rate from the votes.
- A $200 gift certificate will be awarded to the best photo as selected by a 3 person jury throughout all the photos.
Winners will be able to use their gift certificates at a garden centre close to their place of residence, selected by Acti-Sol. Gift certificates must be redeemed in full in a single purchase.
The prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be exchanged for a cash amount.
Choice of winners
The contest will take place from June 4th, 2010 until August 6th, 2011. The winning photo in each category will be determined by the public through an on-line voting system on Acti-Sol’s Website on the www.acti-sol.ca Web page.

The winning photos as well as the name of the photographers will be revealed and posted on Acti-Sol’s official Website beginning on September 13, 2011.
General rules
By entering the contest, the participant authorizes Acti-Sol, to use, without any compensation whatsoever, for advertising, promotional or any other purposes, his/her name as well as the photograph entered in the contest.
CERTIFICATION OF COPYRIGHT OWNERSHIP: The participant must be an amateur photographer as well as the sole owner of copyright in the photograph entered in the contest and certify that he/she has obtained the consent of the person or persons appearing in the photograph, if applicable. The participant agrees to indemnify Acti-Sol against any liability arising from the use of any submitted photograph and shall sign a declaration and release to that effect.
REPRODUCTION AND\OR PUBLICATION RIGHTS: The participant agrees that any and all photographs entered by him/her in the contest may be reproduced and used by Acti-Sol and grants Acti-Sol the full right to reproduce and\or use for commercial purposes, the photograph(s) he/she has submitted to this contest, without limitation and without any remuneration whatsoever.
EXCLUSIVITY: The participant shall not submit a photograph that has already won a prize in another photo contest. A person can only participate once and submit only one photograph per contest category. Only one participation per e-mail address per category shall be allowed for the duration of the contest. All prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be exchanged, transferred or converted to cash. By entering this contest or attempting to enter this contest, each participant and/or would-be participant agrees to: (i) release, discharge, and forever hold harmless the persons for the benefit of whom this contest is carried on as well as their officers, directors, employees, shareholders, agents and other representatives (collectively, the "releasees") from any and all claims, actions, damages, demands, manner of actions, causes of action, suits, debts, duties, accounts, bonds, covenants, warranties, indemnities, contracts and liabilities of whatever nature or kind arising out of, or in connection with the participant’s participation or attempted participation in the contest, compliance or non-compliance with the terms and conditions of this contest, or the acceptance and use of his/her prize; and (ii) should he/she be selected as a potential winner, to sign the declaration and release form that will be provided before he/she takes possession of the prize. The releasees shall not be responsible for lost, incomplete, late or misdirected entries or for any failure of the contest Website during the contest period, or for any technical malfunction or other problems with, any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software or for any technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination of the foregoing, and shall not be liable for any resulting injury or damage to any person or property arising from, or relating to, that person’s or any other person’s participation or attempted participation in the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any Website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, the sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. No communication or correspondence shall be entered into with contest participants, other than with participants who are selected as potential prize winners. Once a photograph has been submitted, Acti Sol shall own the photograph and all rights pertaining to it.
In all cases, the person for whom this publicity contest is carried on and its employees, representatives, agents or a member of the jury as well as the persons with whom they are domiciled cannot participate in the contest.
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for resolution. Disputes about the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
